K-Pop Fan Interview: Ghia
Could you tell us who you are, where you’re from and give us a little description about yourself?
Hey, Queens and Kings! I am Ghia. I was born and raised in Hawaii and now I live in Vegas. A class of 2020 graduate. I like to say I’m pretty chill and yet very comedic. Not much of a Miss Perfect, but I do have my success stories. Kinda like a mom figure to some people and for the other people I’m just this playful child.
So how long are you a K-pop fan and how did you get introduced?
I got introduced to K-pop in the year 2012. The whole era of my life where every kid knew ‘Gangnam Style’ by PSY. I became fan in 2016. Started out with BTS, GOT7, MONSTA X, ASTRO, and TWICE.
Why do you love K-pop and what makes it different compared to other genre’s?
I love K-pop due to the whole image of what they do as a group or even as a soloist. They have like these theories to deep meanings. And don’t get me started with the cinematography of how they present their music. It’s like a big story that could be never ending. The difference of K-pop to other pop music to me is the story. If you think about it, there is a story in everything for K-pop. It all starts with one thing and just has a chain effect through time. And other genres usually have it set for a certain feeling ,but their other songs could represent something different.
Could you tell us your top 5 K-pop groups (in no particular order):
Stray kids, Ateez, Victon, DKB and MCND.
Out of those 5, if you had to pick a number 1, who would it be and why?
Stray Kids because they just have this powerful representation in their videos and deep meaning in their music I relate to in some ways.
Who’s your bias. Could you tell us your top 5 (in no particular order):
Lee Felix , Han Jisung, Song Minjae, Lee Seoho and Kang Hyung Gu (Kino).
If you had to pick a number 1 bias, who would it be and why?
Felix from Stray kids because he just has this funny, sweet and passionate personality that I really like about people. Ones with the big heart in the world.
Imagine getting a wish granted, but it has to be K-pop related: could you tell us what your wish would be and why?
I wish to be like a feature in a music video or like shows of one of my favorite groups, because I would love to get to meet them and the chance of getting it filmed just makes the memory last forever.

Shout out to Katja, one of my K-pop cover friends. You are doing great sweetie! You inspire me and so many other people. This one is for you.
And last but not least: if you could change the world with just one positive message (it doesn’t have to be K-pop related), what would it be?
Everyone has a secret potential no matter what it may be. You have something special. Sure there are people that could have your same special thing. Just remember it takes one person to push through and put passion in their inner special. And the world will love and support you when you start to take action.
